This comic book style book clocks in at 21 pages It only takes about 15 minutes to read possibly 30 if your really checking out the art It has an inerative puzzle to it I haven t started it but I just wasn t to impressed with this as a whole It s lacked severely in story since comics are short but this one didn t have much going for it except some very intriguing artwork Don t think I d like to continue on with it 9781495617713 I thoroughly enjoyed this short graphic novel I will admit I didn t realize this was the 2nd one in the series until after I had read it so it s definitely surprising how much I enjoyed it This is only a 21 page graphic serial so it didn t take long to get through it at all I read every little thing I could on each page and scrutinized all of the imagery to get as much out of it as I could Then.
Graphic novel authorial choices
When I got to the end I had no idea what I had read or what any of it meant So I went back and read it again Granted because this is so short reading it two times over still only took me about 20 30 minutes Once I read through it the 2nd time I picked up some of the nuances of the story and almost started to cry Realizing that the soldier stuck on the battlefield is the same soldier the lonely wife is writing to and seeing what happens to both of them is gut wrenching The art work is also gorgeous It s all in black and white which kind of just adds to the grittiness of the story You can definitely feel that it s going to get darker and darker as it goes I m extremely excited to continue on with the series and actually did go back and buy the 1st book so I could garner as much information as I could Thank you Netgalley for provided me a copy of this story in exchange for my honest review 9781495617713 I am enjoying the puzzle concept of this comic The imagery is intriguing and the art style is fitting Although I was left wanting as far as story and wished this were a longer issue 9781495617713 The book looked great Vincent Sammy has a great sense of design That being said the story could have been written by a bunch of monkeys hitting keys on a typewriter It was totally incoherent I m not even sure there was a story.
