Great storyThis last book had me hooked nonstop The characters are all intriguing and the story is all amazing I think this is the best of all the books in the series Bravo The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4 Where to begin I finished the fourth and final installment of the high fantasy series Valdaar s Fist I feel vexed in a good way The last fifty pages took exciting painful tearful a little expected and still surprising turns The culmination of the search for the ancient Drow forged weapon comes to an end Yet it is the whispered discovery of the ritual truth which leaves the reader anxious and sad to come to the story s end Still like the song says every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end The tale picks up after the party members spend several weeks training in preparation for the final push to recover the sword from his current keeper the Lord of Dragons Bahamut A task which provokes the mind How How can a group so small bring down the famed Platinum dragon I don t dare spoil the ending but the victory is achieved with depth intelligence and teamwork forged in the fires of time and trust Ever dynamic characters once mistrustful of each other come through for each other even through death to achieve a bIttersweet victory The first arc for the heroes is completed of Valdaar s Fist but it is clear even with the heroes parting and the years passed in the Epilogue the friends will find their story moves ever onward I have no doubt they will be fighting and scraping by together once The novel is flawlessly presented My only critique would be the amount of times a certain character is resurrected but that is largely negated by the explanation and circumstances The author presents a beauty to the bond between familiar and man which is carried from the beginning of the novel through tears to the sweet nod of an Eagle s head at the finale An equal elegance is presented through the strength determination and dedication of the adventurers Of great note are the detailed descriptions of fight scenes comedic banter spells and love which lift of the page and create a stunning reel of film in your imagination of magic dragons legendary weapons and the culminating journey s wealth of breathless words This last work of the author is equal to household names of high fantasy royalty The Platinum Dragon is an enjoyable conclusion to a Dungeons and Dragons inspired story sure to thrill fans of all ages The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4 The Platinum Dragon is a cracking conclusion to Valdaar s Fist If you haven t read any of the other books in this series you don t know what you re missing I have thoroughly enjoyed each book and taken as a whole this series is one you ll never forget Brilliant writing amazing characters and a truly great story Definitely one for the reread pile My thanks to the author This review was written voluntarily and is entirely my own unbiased opinion The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4 First let me bring you up to date on the overall story This tale begins with book 1 in the series Defense Of The Land which is a companion series to Valdaar s Fist I have become a great fan of both series and wish to carry on until the end It is sort of a duel of books instead of banjo s Live and Learn began with a new group of champions Jaramiile the Paladin Sharna the Cleric healer Mesomarques a sorcerer Golfindel a half Elf Ogmurt a fighter and his best friend Dolt also a great fighter I believe he s a dwarf There is an ancient ritual to raise a dead God named Valdaar who upon his death predicted he would be raised again by loyal followers He was killed by his brother Praxaar in the war to end all war He was said to be an evil Dark Lord being infused with magic by the Drow Dark Elves Praxaar s followers lived in relative peace but a decree was made by him to rid the world of all who followed the teachings of The Dead God Valdaar so tens of thousands of innocent peace loving men women and children were slaughtered for the better good Quote from Prologue In a much documented battle between good and evil who gets to decide what is good And who gets to decide what is evil The so called good guys unquote. The Platinum Dragon book 1 It is this author s desire for each reader to choose for themselves the right and wrong of it It has been my decision that there is no right or wrong just two sets of brave champions who are willing to fight and die for their beliefs I fell in love with the champions of Valdaar s Fist Sordaak the great sorcerer and mind manipulator Savinhand trapfinder thief rogue nicknamed thumbs Thrinndor the Paladin a huge fearless fighter Vorgath the Dwarf but also a fighter with great strength Breunne a ranger Cyrillis the Cleric and Healer also Sordaak s familiar a tiny creature named Quisit who resembles a demon But now I am so involved with the lives of all the characters I don t know who to root for The counter parts Jaramiile the Paladin and leader of the group Shaarna the sister of Sordaak who is also a Sorcerer Mage with great magic and healing spells Mesomarques the Cleric Healer Golfindel the half Elf Ogmurt and Dolt both great fighting men Shaarna s familiar Oscar who is a miniature pseudo Dragon I have loved lived and fought side by side through each group of companions so it s hard to say but I am leaning towards the latter group for it s strong female roles The war has begun and the followers of Valdaar lead by Sordaak a direct descendant are trying to find the artifacts to raise the Dead God and have him once again take rule upon the land Jaramiile a descendant and follower of Praxaar aided by Shaarna the sister of Sordaak are just as determined to stop the raising of the Dead God whom they view as evil incarnate There are no spoilers in this review only an overview of the duel series as a whole This new group of champions will solicit the help of the most unlikely of companions The minion of Set who also follow Praxaar but still use human sacrifice in their worship Jaramiile s group do not agree with this practice and are very wary of the leader Urjanna She solicits the help of Storm Giants who can cause snow storms tornados and any horrible storm conditions imaginable Urjanna is a tall elegant Elf female There will be test for each member of their champions along the way to see the worthiness and depth of their innermost fears. EBook The Platinum dragonfly In each book there will be found great items of power swords bows staves knives and much You will get to view great battles that will keep you on the edge of your seat not knowing who you want to succeed because you love them all There will be death and near death experiences admiration and love for one s companions without all the gushy romance There are no sex scenes needed to carry this story along just fast paced non stop action Sometimes our new champions will be hot on the heels of those they seek sometimes they will be deep into battle and sometimes they will be laid back resting and plotting the next best move The battles are bloody and hard fought through the worst of weather You will see loyalty and also betrayal Danger lurks behind every bend in the road and tree in the forest Safety cannot be found in the highest of mountains or upon the sea You will meet intelligent speaking Dragons at their worst behavior that are so fierce they can freeze your blood and make your soul tremble until you want to weep There is only one promise I can give you with these dueling series You will never be bored. The Platinum Dragon ebook reader Quote I have sworn to aid this cause he said quietly Besides one must conquer one s fears in life or risk allowing them to build as you go through that same life to a point where those fears conquer you unquoteI was given this book by the author Vance Pumphrey whom I met through a reading group called booktasters in exchange for a fair but honest review All opinions are solely my own and have no ill intent towards the author publisher or promoters of this book The I read the I admire Vance as an author and human being Both series are brilliantly mesmerising The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4 I lived loved laughed and fought along side of these great warriors In this the final installment of Valdaar s Fist I felt as if I knew these people on a personal basis Sordaak and his companions are pooling their resources and building a temple complex to rise a dead God Valdaar and his brother and opposing God had a great war Valdaar fell and cast his essence into an unknown location but swore he would return some day Sordaak being a Mage and Scholar has studied and searched to find the way to bring him back Throughout this series there have been great adventures to find the relics needed to aid in his return A Staff Bow Greataxe and Sword each containing the power and magic of a God Along the way there are great battles with many different species of this world Vorgath the dwarf with barbarian rage could not wait to slay a Dragon which he does Him Thrinndor the paladin and Breunne the ranger are ali great warriors none being new to battle go up against great foes making alliances with many after beating them in battle Sordaak enlist the Drow dark Elves the heroes met in battle in the Library of Antiquity to help in building the Chapel and Keep complex which is a great help since Elves can speed up endurance with their magic spells However there are many who serve Praxaar who would do anything to stop the dead God Valdaar from returning Just when I thought all of our champions would all make it to the end of our journey one is damaged beyond help of magic spells or potions I admit it tears slid down my face Our cleric healer Cyrillis tries her best to keep all her friends alive and well but some things cannot be fixed even with magic The enemies are many battles against Storm Giants undead skeletons wraiths and yes Dragons all are within these pages but important is the camaraderie between our heroes The argue sling harsh words and some even warm up each day with a friendly battle between friends They each worry for the others safety and when one falls the others fight that much harder to give their healer time to mend broken bones seal deadly slashes from blades and an occasional singeing from a spell or Dragon Some heroes fall in love and some just fall never to rise again You will meet some new characters and species in this story take treacherous journeys on land and sea be in the midst of great battles Dragon fights and torture What you won t get is boredom and average mundane writing So much goes on in this series I feel like I lived 20 lifetimes with my friends but they were all well worth living I was provided this series by booktasters twitter and author Vance Pumphrey for a fair honest review All opinions are my own and have no ill intent towards the author publisher or promoters of this book I don t generally read ebooks but am happy booktasters invited me join This series was an absolute joy to read it truly has everything I look for in books Excitement battles adventure and a touch of sweet romance The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4 Valdaar s Fist. EPub The Platinum dragon king This part of the story is packed with action not only is our group attacked on their island where Sordask is constructing a temple in order to bring their god back but they have to fight the mighty dragons keeping the sword With lots of cunning coherence among the group loyalty and friendship they are bound to succeed This book had many surprises that keep the reader on edge and engaged in the story The complete series has followed a clear thread from beginning to end the characters have shown a great development incorporating their previous experiences which is a great accomplishment by the author who has shown Ann understanding of how to incorporate these into the described personalities It had been my great pleasure to read these books The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4 This book is what I d call a Pandora s box It s the fourth and final book in the Valdaar s Fist series but it threw so many curve balls at me that I felt like the story was in control Have you ever felt like that Like you thought you knew the story and where things were going but fact of the matter is that you knew nothing Vorpal inch closer to Valdaar s Fist and it is in this final book that they face their greatest battles and in so doing they find themselves going beyond what they knew of themselves in order to achieve their goal By the third book Sordaak had relinquished his leadership mantle to Thrinndor but what stood out for me was that he was very much in charge of this quest from book one This book opens with Thrinn s diplomacy skills and his ability to get two dwarves to negotiate was great because one barbarian is rage and strength but two well two is a storm Towards of the end of the second book Thrinn was wary of the budding relationship between Cyrillis and Soradaak and I d read into a love triangle there but with this book it is clear that the priestess clearly chose Sordaak and my two cents on it is that it made Thrinn jealous. Platinum dragon stats Apart from the intense battles and especially the one with the dragons in this book I loved the intensity of this book Every character knew that they were close to their goal and each one was keen to see it through. Book The Platinum dragon eq I also enjoyed the curve balls this story threw at me I didn t know that a Sorcerer who lost his familiar could get another one I was enraged when Fahlred died because though the quasit creeped me out I grew accustomed to his vanishing acts I was even enraged towards the end of the book but there is to the story than meets the eye as regards Vorgathmy favorite character in the series. Book The Platinum dragon eq It s been a wonderful adventure for me and I am grateful to have read these books because hadn t it been for BookTasters and the Author I wouldn t have traveled and been part of an epic adventure as this The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4 The fourth and final book of the Valdaar s Fist Series was yet again an unstoppable page turner. Platinum dragon lord The author must now a thing or two about boating or at least learned it because the descriptions of the seagoing vessel were spot on I felt like I was on the boat with the companions. Kindle The Platinum dragonfly 5 stars all day everyday for this book Keep your tissues close however The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4 This book explores many realms many planes and many experiences The descriptions are still brilliant The addition of the new character is amazing The crescendo finally releases in this book and its a fitting end It was saddening to see the penultimate book bring an end to so many things I had hoped would never end but they fit in the larger scheme of things The cliffhanger at the end of the book definitely builds intrigue towards the fifth book now book one of the second series Am curious The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4 Die Don t is a truly brilliant follow up to Live Learn Vance Pumphrey knows exactly what to do to get your attention and hold it I m a little bit in awe of the world building character development and spinning a yarn skills that this author has and it s grown with each book I have no idea why these books don t have a further reach than they do so help everyone out and grab copies as soon as you can My thanks to the author This review was written voluntarily and is entirely my own unbiased opinion The Platinum Dragon Valdaar s Fist Book 4
